It wasn't that Obama was elected. It was that 72 yr-old McCain lost.

Unless you're a Republican you're not likely to 've seen any difference between the candidates. After all, McCain considered running w/Kerry
4 years ago.You had to be sold on the big difference that Obama's a Marxist and ,if Oreilly,Smirconish, kathleen Parker, all conservatives, weren't sold;why would the American people not just choose the younger man?

The clincher to the issue is that mcCain, knowing that his promise to enforce the borders allowed him to beat Romney's 8 pt lead in Calif,in ONE WEEK... ;said nothing about illegal immigration in general election,& yet Calif. Latin population is much LARGER than the national figure.

If McCain didn't fear the larger Latin population in Calif. why would he hesitate nationally where the Latin proportion is much smaller?
DID MCCAIN WANT OBAMA TO WIN? Was this a rerun of Bob Dole, who's now Clinton's friend?

dear mr. woolley,
well maybe you were joking before.
1)you are really mistaken to believe all politicians do it for power. i know plenty of activists who are motivated to help others, not for power or publicity. same for senators, etc. who devote their lives to help those less fortunate. so its pretty bad taste to badmouth sen. kennedy at this time.
but i realize those on the right and puritans/ fundamentalists are obsessed with sex--esp. other peoples sex lives. so you cant let go the story about kennedy and car crash so many years ago. he was never convicted of anything. for me, politicians personal lives are of absolutely no concern--be they republ or dems.
2)of course the palestinians commit terrorists acts.. and so do the israelis. but the point is this--we will never have peace until both sides are treated equally. and never forget that israel is in the occupied territory in violation of UN law.
sincerely,
alan northcutt

Alan,

Yes, I was jerking your chain...but I'll be serious.

1. I did not badmouth Kennedy. He is seriously ill. Time to go get his treatment and let someone else serve. You don't think he was never convicted because he's a Kennedy. Do You?
2. Screw the UN. Israel responded when the Arabs attacked them and took the "occupied" areas. I would never give back an inch as they have done. I don't support treating terrorists "equally."

Lynn,

Yes, Lynn. I also saw Discovery Channel's program on Bolder Dam last night.
Large hydroelectirc power is amazing if for nothing beyond the scale.
The host of the show mentioned windows in the face of the dam which were not
shown; that's the control room. He also referred to "turbines" while showing
one of the generator floors. The turbines are located below the generators
just above the discharge into the river.

Public visits to the control room have not been part of a tour since the early '50's.
There is not a lot of room around the top of a turbine and, I believe, tour visits
there were stopped in the late '70's due to the number of visitors.

I have visited a turbine area twice and the control room once.

Enviromental issues over the past fourty years or more has prevented continued
exploitation of hydroelectric power. Hydroelectic power has an enormous impact
on wildlife enviroment in general and especially fish migration.

While I'm sure you have already declared this over your airwaves, repeating
that the Democrats are suddenly in favor bailing out the Big Three
Automakers is a reflection of their fealty toward the UAW bears repeating
over and over. This is a bailout of the UAW and not of the Big Three! This
is also a bailout of Detroit and the state of Michigan. Chapter 11 would be
a boon to the Big Three because they would suddenly break free of all of
those blood-sucking union contracts.

Lynn-
I heard on the news that Newt Gingrich had sad that Sarah Palin was not the leader of the Republican Party but that Bobby Jindal and others were. I don’t know if Newt was quoted accurately and have not heard him repeat it again but it is terrible when Republicans attack Republicans. The other side never does this. They have 12 people that are in the primaries and have a love fest. They even let the nut job Senator Kucinch talk. It also shows that your personal ife makes a difference to the Republicans or Newt would be a shoe in for the presidency. If he would want to change parties and all his views he could be a candidate for Democrats.
Great show.

Hey Lynn;

I hear many right wing radio host deriding the "fairness doc.", and they appear to have a great problem with it. They all appear to be afraid they will have to a dem. to set along with them to give another point of veiw. The answer is to have a Libertarian or Constitution party member with you. Just like radio host , whom declare to be so so for the constitution, cannot stop theirselves from calling our gov. a democracy instead of a Republic, just cannot get away from the two party system.

> I will bet you that you would be able to have as many people from the Lib. or Con. party on your show as you could handle and I bet they would do it for free. Ask your friend Floyd. Bet he would throw in a free day now and then. Because if you really wish to go for an opposing point of veiw, they are the only two parties that have one.

I think if you tried it out even now, I think your number of listeners would grow a lot.

SOL,
Sincere thanks for the election results by county map. It really supports
my devolutionary/enclave philosophy. Indeed, the more Obama succeeds the
more he fails.......give yourself a gold star for that one! In today's WSJ
is a column by Holman W. Jenkins "Obama Hears a Giant Sucking Sound" that
presents a connect-the-dots prescription for the Obama "failure."

Re: LOGIC MINUTE on Hillary being a bad SecOstate pick due to her scandals:
“Doesn’t change the facts … “

Those “scandals” you mention were not scandals. They were hyped up news stories fed by a frenzied, fanatical wacky wight wing.

Where’s the convictions? Where’s the jail time? The only plea bargaining or out of court settlement I recall is your pal Limbaugh, getting caught with prescription drugs (Doctor Shopping) and getting caught with Viagra – with one mysterious pill missing. Who was the lady? A call girl in the Caribbean? There’s the mystery.

And your pal, O’Reilly. Phone sex accusations in a lawsuit that was settled out of court. Don’t you wonder how and why a “public figure” like O’Reilly bought his way out of the lawsuit? If there weren’t facts involved, he would have let it go to court.

There you go again with assumptions based on accusations, not facts.

But, that is par for your course.

Demonize, demean and distort. That’s your creed.

No answers, no ideas, just criticisms. At least a journalist would have crafted the commentary with more than what you provided.

Guilt by association. It didn’t work with Obama – and that is why the wacky wight wingers are weeping and whining. And if you can’t lead and inspire, how can you attract followers?

You can’t. That why YOU lost …

SOL,
Decades ago I learned that bookkeeping is how and accounting is why. You
gotta read Henninger's column "Mad Max and The Meltdown" in today's WSJ. It
is a little arcane and opaque until you get to the two paragraphs at the
end. Read 'em and weep! Devolutionary/enclave, anyone?

I don't know if we can beat Oklahoma in Norman. This season we have beat
teams who have signed, in Februarys past, a lot more kids whose names were
in boldface type: Texas A&M (Yes, really!), Texas, Nebraska, Kansas, and now
comes Oklahoma. Our recruiting has greatly improved since defecting to the
Big 12, but is still just a cat's whisker below most of those named and a
full head of hair less than the neighborhood burnt-orange bullies. At some
point our talent mini-deficit could rear its ugly head. Sometime, if you're
really (I mean, really!) interested I could reveal to you all of those
insights and predictions that were told to me by J. T. King (former coach
and Athletic Director) at Raiderland. Said insights will serve to explain
why Arkansas is not competitive in the SEC, why A&M is in the dumps right
now, and stuff-like-that.

Lynn, If you get a chance, would you please talk about what is going on in the Caribbean Sea. Hugh was talking about it on his show this morning and there is a lot going on that is not even being talked about in the news. The more I listen, the more scarey things are becoming.

Thanks, Stephanie

***
Hugh was talking about the threat to our shipping lanes, the treat to our oil platforms in the Gulf, something about the Russians wanting to put bombers in Cuba, something about China and the Panama Canal. How in the world is Obama going to handle all of this? Ask them to be nice and lets all be friends??

What makes me sick is to see Robert Nordelli, CEO of Chrysler trying to get bailout money after he ran Home Depot in the ground and walked away with 240 million dollar severance.... Then they act like their salary's or non-negotiable.

Re: LOGIC MINUTE on a return to the Clinton administration:

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz … More silliness from Lynn Woolley-Wackie. Wild accusations. Weird theories. Puts me and most American asleep.

Want some facts?

Fact 1 - Americans elected Barack Obama on November 4.
Fact 2 - Wacky wild-eyed wight wingers haven’t stopped their whining, moaning and bitching over the results. They’re sore losers.
Fact 3 - We’ll have to put up with the wackies and their endless groans and your psycho-cratic musings for 4 more years – then the Dems will most likely win again because the We-Publicans have no new ideas, plans or governing ability. You and they are lost and wandering/wondering in the “Desert of Stupid”.

Live with it.
