Lynn,
I called the show a while back to share my belief that a national sales tax would cause “massive regulation of the internet”. There is a recent article regarding Amazon leaving Texas that makes my point.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110210/ap_ ... ax_dispute

Amazon is leaving Texas because we sent them a bill for $269 million in uncollected sales tax. Allen Spelce, a spokesman for Texas Comptroller Susan Combs, indicated that Texas loses $600 million per year in uncollected sales tax from internet transactions. Mind you – this is only taxes for customers in Texas whose purchases came through a distribution center that was also in Texas. Uncollected taxes from Texas residents receiving goods from companies in other states is much higher than the estimated $600 million.

So if Texas is losing at least a billion dollars annually, how much will the federal government lose if we went entirely to a national sales tax? Companies need only move their computers to some Caribbean island and outsource their distribution to avoid those taxes.

Although in spirit, I am in favor of a national sales tax, I think lost revenues will lead to extensive regulations to “close the loopholes”.

You can't know where you're going if you don't know where you came from.
I don't agree 100% with "American Exceptionalism"; America is the latest evolution in a political and cultural process that began when the Angles and the Saxons invaded Britain. After WWII we were able to assume world leadership thanks nearly entirely to the global trading system already established by the British Empire from which we ourselves originated.

ELIZABETH HAMM <crh543@hotmail.com>

Hello Lynn,
Yesterday 02/11/11 You had a caller named Miguel that called in just before the show was going off the air.
He made many remarks about Obama which all added up to all the foul ups that has happened with Obama and his admin. have not been incontinence but Miguel stated he believes they are intentionally done.
I believe this myself and have after the man was on the job at the white house a few months.

I believe that there was some sort of agenda from the beginning of Obama showing up to run for public office,And the agenda isn't suppose to be for the country or its citizens betterment or benefit.

Miguel should be congratulated for being the first to say on the publics air waves what he truly thought and many have felt for a long time.

Thought it was interesting that Mansfield is not listed here as a grant recipient...also how many years the taxpayers have been funding these
types of programs.

Thoughts in passing.

Ron Paul will be 77 next election and he has bags under his eyes you could take to Walmart with you(for environmental purposes.)Yet, for the 2nd straight, season he's been the choice of CPAC.

Let's now incl his substance .He's good at saying we should never get involved abroad but he doesn't tell us what we should do about the expansionism of a Communist-Islamic cabal that keeps taking over more and more influence in the world that gets money from Geo Soros In case he's not tuned in, that means we're going to be helpless in the future to face a GIGANTIC, extremely partisan,narrow-minded movement that's not deterred by the ocean between us. We don't stone women to death for sneezing ,Ron, nor do we promulgate honor killings."Tolerance" is irrelevant when you face a failed system .that's showing on their face they don't give a damn for you

Paul has implied strongly that El Qaeda had no choice but their 9/11 mission. He doesn't tell us how he accounts for the fact that every country we've conquered, going back to japan,Germany, & forward to Kuwait & Iraq,is now free and prosperous & that no nation in history can make that statement & we haven't taken Iraq's oil.

The Prime Min. of Japan was here in 07, singing Elvis tunes, but did we forget Hiroshima? The bottom line is that "tolerance' should only be tolerance for a proven system that works--not tolerance for a politcal system that's a proven historical failure ,like Islam If we're so oppressive, Ron, why is Islam outcast,Brigitte Gabriel such great American advocate?.
Stokely carmichael used to say that the U S doesn't have to be run by white people(he really meant free market advocates....& that we were "just 2 thieves fighting for the pot of gold. He forgot to tell us that should've authorized us to ..FIGHT BACK ..vs his socialist agenda. But he was too shrewd to tell us it was really about a socialist system vs our system of freedom

That's been the hidden trojan horse of civl rights in our country. CIVIL RIGHTS. is a front for socialism.Every single Democrat Black and latin legislator (i said Democrat) is on the list of 83 Democrat socialists USA, but they don't want you to see the trojan horse of big -government -socialism that WANTS TO SPEND YOUR MONEY that black people support. When you say "no" to a black person , you're saying it to a socialist-THAT'S WHY LIBERAL WHITE PEOPLE ARE OFFENDED.Really ,isn't it more effective ,more punishing to call you "RACIST"? I mean ,what victory would be won by calling you an anti-socialist? Blacks are their big government weapon & 65% of blacks work for govt, acc. to black Star Parker .
But it's more politcally effective to accuse you of racism, because that's the socialism bottom line of "civil rights"...& they'll key your paint job to remind you of how just their cause is...and attack physically when you speak on campus

That's what socialists do all over the world--oppress. That's why "liberal' talk radio always goes bankrupt Socialists start some greviance that most people can agree with then, when they get power, they switch, they switch..to their own system of oppression.

That's why obama could tell us we need a domestic military, more powerful ....than our national military...AND HE DIDN'T EVEN GET QUESTIONED.Have we forgotten he's backed by Wm ayres, Jeremiah Wright, shabazz of Black panthers & George soros (WHO WERE HIS GUESTS AT WHITEHOUSE) who're disciples of Che Guevara? What if a Republican had said that?Nevertheless, it took a republican, reagan to clean up Jimmy carter's 21% inflation ,telling us "Jimmy tells us we're in trouble because the people have been living too well, but I'll ..prove ...THE GOVT HAS BEEN LIVING TOO WELL ...and he repeated the 10 most horrifying words in the English language

"Im from......& I'm here to help"

Hi Lynn,
Rick Ellis commented on your wall post.
Rick wrote: "Law and order had a show on tonight where people were charged with murder for killing a pre-born child. Even main stream culture sees the hand writing on the wall. This is not a time for compromise. This is the time to swing for the fence. th...is is the time to up the anti, and put on the pressure anyway we can. That means digging the spurs in deep, and condemning these half hearted laws that are designed to relieve the preasure personhood is putting on this issue, without actually getting it. That means totally rejecting post abortion as a pro-life tactic, and actually putting the focus on the children, not killer mom. That means advocating true justice for the murder victims of abortion, and putting all involved on notice of our resolve to bring them to that justice. Sympathy belongs to the children being slaughtered, not to the killers. We must turn up the heat. there wouldn't be so much going our way if the other side didn't see they were in trouble. Lets not let them off the hook with half hearted laws that say "then you can kill the baby". Time to kick the door in, and stop it once and for all. We fight for the child, not their killers, or personality cult leaders, or Republican politicians throwing a bone every now and again. We fight for the womb child, and bless God they deserve our best effort. PERSONHOOD NOW !!!!!!!!!"

Freshman Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) gave a speech to close this year's Conservative Political Action Conference that earned a more enthusiastic reaction from conservative activists than those given by most rumored 2012 presidential hopefuls over the past three days

Allen West is black
This tells us that ,despite very vital inputs by other Republicans at the Conference, nevertheless the charges of racism ,anytime Republicans try to find a solution for a given issue,is the thing they're most fed up with and seek to rectify. Democrats are desperate to keep the black race on their plantation,BUT OUR COUNTRY WILL NOT SUCCEED IN IT'S CURRENT CONDITION.THAT'S WHY DEMOCRATS ARE ANTI-AMERICAN. Limbaugh is right when he says 'I hope he fails"This demonstration receiving West ,said "Welcome to our party... that at least.... preaches...common sense rather than pressure-group justice

Subject: David Horowitz Blasts Grover Norquist and Muslim Brotherhood

Along with the information sent to me below, we all need to watch this YouTube from the CPAC meeting on 2.12.11. Among other statements, David Horowitz exposes the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, and Grover Norquist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7zEVcgCgGc

The Muslim Brotherhood is an organization that sounds so all-inclusive like it is a good thing, but it is an organization that was started in 1928 by Hasan al-Banna. Their purpose was twofold: one, to implement shari'a law worldwide and secondly to re-establish the global Islamic state or caliphate.

One of their principles is they believe Islamic Law mandates that Muslims should wage jihad or warfare against non-Muslims. The Muslim Brotherhood's creed is "Allah is our goal; the Messenger [Muhammad] is our guide; the Qur'an is our law; Jihad is our means; and martyrdom in the way of Allah is our inspiration."

The Muslim Brotherhood has had a change of leadership within the past year. With the change of leadership, the rhetoric of the Brotherhood is now more in line with the view of al Qaeda.

There is a revolutionary movement that is being driven by the Muslim Brotherhood. A Muslim Brotherhood document called, "Phases of the World Underground Movement Plan" describes the Brotherhood's plan for infiltration into a society.

First, they are discreet with a secret establishment of leadership. In phase two, they appear on the public scene and exercise public activities. Thirdly, there is an escalation phase prior to conflict and confrontation with the rulers. The fourth phase is open public confrontation with the government, and the fifth phase is seizing power to establish their Islamic nation. These are the points that we are seeing taking place in Egypt right now.

We must pray for the governments of the world, especially those of western nations and our own President and government that they see through this. There are many people who do not have the understanding of current events. This is what Israel is facing. The peace plan that Egypt has followed under President Mubarak with Israel would be dissolved if the Muslim Brotherhood came into power.

We also need to pray for the government of Israel to know exactly what to do because Hezbollah has taken over in Lebanon to their north; on their east, the Muslim Brotherhood has risen up in Jordan; and in the South below Gaza, Egypt. For 30 years Egypt has been somewhat of a protection to Israel from nations such as Iran. If an anti-Israeli government should take over in Egypt then that border would become porous.

Blessings

Lynn, as a very last resort, I would support Trump for president. My impression of him developed over the years is that this guy must be paper rich, since all I read about him involves bankrupt operations. Finally I realized his business plan must be to compartmentize projects, and if they falter dump them and stiff investors an debtors. Great plan, bankrupcy as a business plan....what a sleeze. Guess his TV programs must be good, I could never watch this phony.

LOGIC MINUTE ABOUT JAMES CLAPPER:

Sad, sad. What are your bona fides that allow you to say such things in your Feb 14 comedy-tary?

Y'ain't got none. That's why you are doomed to a life of reading and regurgitating talking points from Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, your strange right wing zealots and folks who are not in the big leagues -- in other words, your peers.

Dear Elected Leaders of Texas:

Capital Metro is an un-acceptable DINOSAUR because (1) it operates over-sized, wide-body buses that are usually 70% empty and (2) it operates over-sized, wide-body buses that create traffic bottle-necks all over Austin. And each one-way passenger trip is actually costing Cap Metro more than ... $30 ... !!!

Cap Metro is an un-acceptable DINOSAUR because (1) it operates passenger trains that are usually 70% empty and (2) it operates passenger trains that create traffic bottle-necks wherever they cross streets in Austin. And each one-way passenger trip is actually costing Cap Metro more than ... $200 ... !!!

RECOMMENDATION: Replace Cap Metro (and their big buses and big trains) with a fleet of PRIVATELY OWNED MINI-VAN TAXI's ... that pick people up and drop them ... following the successful/popular example given daily by ... THE COURTESY VAN SERVICE ... OFFERED BY CAR DEALERSHIPS AND REPAIR SHOPS ... all over Austin.
