LOGIC MINUTE on Obamacare rationing:

Hell, the next thing you will be saying is that there will be death panels. Last week, it was the word "bizarre" and now ---- the Reeps have decided to dredge up the "rationing" scare again. Geez. just how tired and uninspired are they and you?

What mullet-minds the right wing yakkers have. They don't realize that the insurance companies have rationed life for years by having an unknown voice, on an 800 number, and not a doctor decide whether or not a patient can receive care, based on their policy --- and there are many cases when the unknown 800 number faceless person gives a wrong decision.

Go ahead. But, when, God forbid, one of your children or your wife goes into the hospital and that faceless 800 number person is called and denies coverage of an operation that might save their life. THEN, you will be raising Holy Hell at the top of your voice about it being "unfair."

Can you believe CBS and CNN making such a big fuss
over The Palin Family taking a bus trip vacation and not
letting them know where they are going and as a result
The Palin Bus is causing a traveling problem on the
roadway.

Hopefully, Sarah and The Donald had a good meeting
and will get together and straighten this country out.

Have a great day.

I am a regular listener, not much of a caller, but I must, discreetly, let you know that very late on the the program that aired on May 31st, you said that Germany is a landlocked country.
It is not. The Port of Hamburg is one of the largest and best in Europe; beaches abound, albeit cold & windy.
Do not take my word for this, look at the map.
I enjoy your show tremendously-keep up the good work.

You are very right that things are still about race. I saw a comment on the Tea parties FB page last night from a black man. it stated that Herman cain was not a real black man. he was just a puppet for the white man. Obama was a real black, even though al sharpton and old whats his name called Obama on his blackness. The term this guy used for herman Cain was "white washed". so IT IS apparent that the civil rights movement did nothing but allow anyone who is not white to be as racist as possible toward us white people, and make it hard to defend ourselves. this guy, as an added bonus, talked about how he loved having relations with white women. very mature I should say. It just makes me sad that Libs. have made it this way. I could care less if Obama was purple! I just hate his policies and track record as president. but, I guess, if you don't like a black politician, it's still because of his skin color. what a shame!

Lynn,
Property tax bond passed, and that is fine I guess, however, I drove by Temple High this morning and noticed a sign advertising free breakfast and lunch during the summer for students from 5 to 18 yrs of age. Have you ever heard of this program? Is this necessary? Is it getting rid of leftovers? This program seems extreme to me. Your thoughts?

Hello Lynn,

I am a big fan of your show and listen when I can. I am a recently retired ICE Special Agent and I tend to agree with you most of the time on issues relating to immigration and border enforcement. I too despise the use of the worn-out hyphenated American terminology.

I recently started a Immigration Enforcement and Compliance Consulting Firm and one day hope to advertise on your show.

Keep fighting the good fight.

REDISTRICTING THREATS BECOME REALITY

In November of 2010, several months before the 2011 Texas Legislative Session began; Texas State Rep. Bryan Hughes issued a press release stating that he had withdrawn his support from Rep. Joe Straus as Speaker. Rep. Hughes explained that a member of Straus’ leadership team had called and had “…brought up the subject of redistricting and explained to me how that process would be used to punish those members not on Speaker Straus’s list of supporters.”

Rep. Hughes went on to say, “More specifically, this member told me that maps were already being drawn to get rid of Representative-Elect Erwin Cain (R) and Representative-Elect Dan Flynn (R).”

In researching the facts for this story, I have discovered that other conservative House members were also threatened by Straus’ minions.

Rep. Hughes’ press release sparked a firestorm of debate with one side disgusted by the strong arm tactics and the other denying they occurred.

The member of Straus’ leadership team who made the call to Rep. Hughes was identified as Rep. Larry Phillips.

A hearing was held by the House Ethics Committee chaired by a Straus appointee who was the recipient of a $42K campaign contribution from Straus. Rep. Phillips was also a member of the committee.
In the hearing, Rep. Hughes asked that he be placed under oath as he gave his testimony, but Rep. Phillips did not volunteer to give his testimony under oath. As attorneys, I feel sure Rep. Phillips knew that he could lose his attorney’s license if he lied under oath. The hearing ended without judgment because of the “he said, she said” nature of the conversation.

Fast-forward to the end of the session and we can now see the threats that disgusted Rep. Hughes have become a reality. Rep-elect Erwin Cain, Dan Flynn, Wayne Christian and other good conservatives have been deliberately disadvantaged by redistricting.

Even worse, the conservative Republican members of the State Board of Education have also been placed in jeopardy by the redistricting map forced through by the chair whom Straus appointed to the redistricting committee.

As Representative Hughes stated, “The speaker’s race should be decided not based on threats of punishment and not on promises of power, but on principle.”

Certainly there are very good conservatives who serve in the Texas Legislature honorably, and they have fought long and hard during this legislative session to get their conservative bills out of committee. The problem is the “quid pro quo” environment that lures unprincipled legislators.

Straus and his supporters’ arrogance in openly fulfilling their threats perpetrated on fellow Republicans is an obvious indication of a sense of immunity from the will of the people. On the outside, it certainly has the smell of corruption and an abuse of power. With a closer look, there’s no doubt in my mind the stink is real; and it is certainly disgusting.

I am excited about the possibility of Sen. De Mint running for President. If he chose the right Vice-President, I believe the duo would be unbeatable. -- Donna Garner

http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/1640 ... hite-house

Excerpts from this article:

Some conservative activists compare DeMint to former Sen. Barry Goldwater (R-Ariz.) and former President Reagan, predicting he could quickly unify social and fiscal conservatives.

Toft said DeMint caught people’s attention by supporting conservative candidates such as Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R), Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R) and California Senate candidate Chuck DeVore through his leadership committee, the Senate Conservatives Fund.

Sen. DeMint mulls White House bid
By Alexander Bolton - 06/01/11 06:00 AM ET
Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) says he is considering running for president after frustrated conservative activists have pleaded with him to run.

DeMint told The Hill that he has discussed a White House bid with his wife and will pray on the question out of respect for his supporters across the country.
The Tea Party favorite, who had indicated he was not going to run in 2012, would significantly shake up the race if he were to jump in.
Many on the right have expressed major reservations about the GOP candidates in the race, claiming they have not energized the base and/or can’t beat President Obama.

The second-term senator would have the inside track to win South Carolina, a key early state in the nomination process. Since 1980, every Republican who has triumphed in the Palmetto State has gone on to capture the GOP presidential nomination.

Some conservative activists compare DeMint to former Sen. Barry Goldwater (R-Ariz.) and former President Reagan, predicting he could quickly unify social and fiscal conservatives.

DeMint insists he has no plans to run. But he won’t dismiss the growing calls for him to enter the contest.

“It’s humbling and out of respect, my wife and I have talked about it,” DeMint said late last week of a possible White House bid. “Out of respect for the people who have asked us to think about this, that’s what we’re going to do. I don’t want to imply that I’m changing in mind, but I want to consider what all these folks are doing.”

Without a doubt, DeMint would face significant hurdles if he launched an eleventh-hour bid. Throughout his political career, DeMint has not been shy in confronting major players in the Republican Party on a wide range of issues. His candidacy would not be popular in Washington, though that dynamic could also be used as an asset on the campaign trail.

There are also questions as to whether he could attract independent voters in a general-election match-up against Obama.

Two GOP factions have begun to draft DeMint for a presidential run.

One is organized by Richard Viguerie, a conservative pioneer in the field of direct-mail political marketing, who helped Reagan win election in 1980.

The other is Conservatives4DeMint, which claims to have about 4,700 members and regional coordinators in 35 states.

Viguerie held a Saturday conference call with allies to plan the initial stages of the draft movement.

“I’ve asked him about the presidential thing twice in the last five or six weeks,” Viguerie said of his recent conversations with DeMint.

“I think he’s giving it serious consideration. Hopefully this will push him over the line and give him the encouragement that there would be a strong base of support,” Viguerie added.

He said DeMint compares to Goldwater in 1964, whom conservatives drafted to challenge President Johnson, and Reagan in 1976 and 1980 respectively.

“He would be the dominant movement conservative leader,” Viguerie said. “He would be the front-runner overnight.”

Angela Toft, national director of Conservatives4DeMint, said the group launched in January after DeMint supporters began corresponding through Facebook. What began as a local fan club in California soon gained national membership.

“A groundswell erupted,” she said.

Toft said DeMint caught people’s attention by supporting conservative candidates such as Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R), Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R) and California Senate candidate Chuck DeVore through his leadership committee, the Senate Conservatives Fund.

Toft said, “I know Sen. DeMint has no personal ambition to be president, but I hope he will answer the call of the American people and run.”

DeMint, 59, said everything would have to fall into place for him to launch a campaign.

“It would take an extraordinary set of circumstances for me to get in. I’ve learned not to rule out anything in life,” he said.

DeMint has already traveled to Iowa and New Hampshire to participate in candidate forums. He’s looking into having a candidates’ forum in South Carolina, as well, but has not set a date.

He said the purpose of these meetings is to pick a principled, conservative nominee in 2012.

“What I’m trying to do in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina is to encourage people to wait, not endorse candidates early,” he said.

DeMint wants conservative activists to wait, before pledging support, to see what positions candidates such as former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney say about the debt ceiling, a balanced-budget amendment and spending levels.

“What I want to be able to do is offer the right candidate a broad consensus of voters in these three early states that have waited,” he said.

DeMint endorsed Romney in 2008.

Some DeMint backers point out that the junior senator from South Carolina is one of the few conservatives in the GOP who is willing to take on his own party’s leadership. As a House member in 2003, DeMint rebuffed then-President George W. Bush by opposing an expansion of Medicare to include a prescription drug benefit.

DeMint also took on Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) over earmarks in the 111th Congress. McConnell, a longtime member of the Appropriations Committee, resisted DeMint’s proposal to establish a moratorium on earmarks. DeMint persisted, despite facing criticism within the GOP conference. He later triumphed, when his GOP colleagues adopted an earmark ban late last year.

DeMint broke with party leaders again last year when he backed Rubio in the Florida Republican primary while National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn (Texas) supported former Gov. Charlie Crist, who later switched to become an Independent.

He defied McConnell in the 2010 Kentucky GOP primary by endorsing Paul after McConnell made clear he was behind former Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson. Paul defeated Grayson before winning the general election last fall.

DeMint is a proven fundraiser. He raised $9.3 million through the Senate Conservatives Fund in the 2010 election cycle, disbursing it to an array of conservatives, including Paul, Rubio and Senate freshmen Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah).

The fund has raised $1.2 million so far this year, according to its website.

Lynn,
Yesterday a soldier from Ft.Hood was talking about the oath. I am a retired Navy vetern of 22 years. I have taken several oath's in my career. The commander in chief also takes an oath to defend, protect and obey the constitution. His oath reflects the same as any person in the military. How can the CIC represent the military when he disrequards his oath. Therfore, Is the military obligated to obey his orders?

Good Morning Sir,

Should you speak of the Weiner twitter incident today it might be logical to suggest that the cover-up being pushed by Rep. Weiner will end up being a “larger and longer” story than the actual deed of providing the photo to a female he follows on twitter. The truth will eventually surface – apparently even Weiner’s own party is becoming disenchanted with his tale.

It might be suggested that his colleagues in the House may have first-hand knowledge of Weiner’s choice in undergarments from encounters in the House gym… it is indeed a possibility. Sad to say, but Weiner can certainly dish it out, but can’t take any heat for his own alleged misconduct.

Thanks – from a daily listener.

Respectfully,
Jeff McKasson

Another snoozer! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ... Geez ... Another 10 seconds of talking and you would have had a set slurpy lip lock on his face.

You and the right wing guys have become your worst nightmare. Spouting theories with no foundation -- kinda like the college professors you hate.

DeMint would last about 4 days in the media cycle. His comments, which he apologized for about gay teachers along with his "let's get government to control your personal lives instead of you" attitude would knock him down immediately.

You don't realize that Americans have seen the light on this right wing wacky crowd that has intruded into their personal lives and health.

But, gee, you've found another butt to kiss, so why should the facts and reality that spoil your fantasy?

Hello All,

I've reviewed the council's agenda (workshop and regular meeting) and nowhere on either is the mention to order an election as provided for in Section 118 of the City Charter. We will have to speak in a language city is familiar with but have so far done poorly: litigation. There is precedent in law for elections outside of state mandated elections. We will ask a judge to help the council comply.

I have $100 dollars and have already received $100 dollars. I will take those dollars and see if my bank (USAA) will allow for deposits into and account so that we can multiply those dollars to do battle with the council. We'll try to get a disinterested attorney from either the Dallas, Houston, or Austin area to plead our case in county court (Honorable Judge Burrows would be the presiding judge).
