Lynn, I thought I heard you say yesterday or the day before yesterday that Cruz was the "Tea Party candidate." I dont know a single Tea Party group in central Texas that supports Cruz for the primary. The "Tea Pary Express" is from the left coast and not from this area. You can rest assured that I wrote them a strongly worded letter while wagging my finger at 'em at the same time. Now, if Cruz survives the primary, then he is obviously a better candidate than Dewhurst but Glen Addison is the guy that most Tea Party groups are supporting.

----------------------------------

I havent written a while so I'll include a Longhorn update for free:

Remember last year when I told you that the end game was to get Notre Dame in the conference or at least a partnership with Texas in games? Well, that is still the case now. Texas is working an agreement right now to have aggy replaced on Thanks giving with Notre Dame by 2015. In the beginning, it will probably be every other year since right now Notre Dame has USC on thanks giving every other year and they want to keep that game but will drop the off-year Stanford game and replace it with Texas. It is expected regularly be one of the biggest game draws in college football, far more than the aggy-Longhorn rivalry.

Expect either or both FSU and Clemson to announce that they are "exploring other conferences" sometime after June 15th. FSU will probably announce that they will join the Big12 conference by August 15th. The rest of the conference wants to go to 12 teams soon so Clemson may announce its intention to join the conference as well. Rumors are that there are seven teams that have sent feelers to the Big12 and the latest has been Georgia Tech. If the conference takes UC and FSU, then it will be hard for them to take GT as well without a commitment from Notre Dame to even the conference at 14. Nonetheless, pulling the two biggest schools and best team brands out of the ACC reduces the conferences attractiveness significantly.

If Notre Dame gets squeezed into joining a conference due to the new championship format, the ACC and their current Big East conference partner become unattractive as a conference for Notre Dame. As stated last year, it will really come down to Notre Dame choosing the Big 12 or Big 10 and the Big 10 can not give Notre Dame the autonomy that they desire, whereas the Big 12 can. Texas would really like another school in the conference that will have close to the same media and revenue influence (such as Notre Dame) as a ballast to counterbalance the conference.

Keep up the good work

All of us who hold our faith, family, and country so dear should stand together in support of the profound message found in this video – The Test of Fire!

Will you vote the values that will stand THE TEST OF FIRE?

Addison's campaign is virtually non-existent but Newt Gingrich's IS non-existent and you stated that you voted for him as a protest vote. aaaa....What?! Voting for Gingrich now IS a Ron Paul type vote. Voting for a true conservative such as Addison is a true protest vote. There is a good chance that Dewhurst does not get a majority of the vote and if the contest is thrown into a run-off, then a vote for Cruz is obvious.

However, you did not address my point - you side stepped it by changing the issue. The Texas Tea Party groups that I know of (and I attend several group meetings) do NOT support Cruz in the primary and, yet, you stated that Cruz was the Tea Party candidate if I heard you correctly. Like the Tea Party Express, ALL those that you listed (Palin, Levin, Freedom Works) are out of state people and organizations. I will guarantee you that they dont track candidates as closely as instate groups such as Texas Tea Parties, or other such groups as the John Birch Society groups.

Consistency, Lynn, consistency.

Lynn-
I agree with Robert also. What a call. You need to keep that one for the archives. I think your show is rubbing off on him.

Good Morning Lynn,

Here’s an out so you can reinstate Barrack without losing face.

I formally request that you show leniency?

Now , using the liberal standard, one person has asked so, it’s a “Popular” request.
And I like Barrack so, he’s a “Popular” broadcast personality.

Tongue placed firmly in cheek!

Lynn,

Well I definitely agree with you about most of the other super hero movies not being done well especially Superman, which is my favorite super hero. Superman returns was pure crap! I was just meaning that the point of the avengers movie was never really about substance but mostly pure super hero entertainment (Action and SFX ). I don't disagree that the plot was pretty thin. I appreciate getting a reply from you and keep up the good work on your show. Have a great day!

“Voters: Be Wary of Those Who Call Themselves ‘Conservatives’”

by Donna Garner 5.24.12

We grassroots citizens who are authentic conservatives must be very wary this election cycle because suddenly the term “conservative” is being co-opted by nearly every left-leaning candidate and/or organization out there. The left-leaners think that we voters will be fooled.

One of these left-leaners is Rep. Ralph Sheffield who represents the Temple, Texas area (HD 55) in the Texas House. Back when Ralph was trying to build support for his initial election, he contacted me. He wanted my husband and me (two retired teachers) to drive to Temple and help him formulate his education platform. At our own time and expense, we complied.

Because my husband and I do not curry political favor, we bluntly presented to Ralph what we expected him as a legislator to do to help the public school students of our state.

We told him that we would not support Ralph's candidacy unless he promised us he would contact us any time an education issue arose for which he needed guidance from the viewpoint of classroom teachers.

We spent several hours pouring out our concerns and giving him some practical suggestions for ways that he as a Texas Legislator could help instead of hamper the education reform so badly needed in our state.

At the end of our meeting, Ralph promised that he would stay in contact with us at every possible opportunity; and we did support his election, having lived and worked in the Temple area with many valuable contacts there.

Bottomline: Ralph “used” us. When Ralph got to the Texas Legislature and the first piece of education legislation arose, I immediately contacted his office to make sure we were networked for further communication. From that time until the present day, I have never heard a thing from Ralph Sheffield.

Not to be deterred, I have continued to contact Ralph Sheffield with important articles but to no avail. Early on, Ralph sold out to left-leaning Rep. Joe Straus, backed his Speakership, and proceeded to vote the way that Straus wanted him to vote on nearly every issue.

AgendaWise.com ( http://pushjunction.com/l/Bv8 ) is going after Rep. Joe Straus by uncovering his lies and also by posting Straus’s recent campaign donations to various left-leaning House incumbents.

Surprise, surprise! Joe Straus recently gave Rep. Ralph Sheffield $13,870.

When this happens, then the question for HD 55 voters should be: “Ralph, what promises did you give Joe Straus in order to get that campaign cash?”

On the other hand, voters in District 55 can be assured that John Alaniz absolutely will not sell out to Straus or to any of the left-leaners in the Texas Legislature.

We know John personally and have worked with him on numerous conservative issues for our state. He is a man of high integrity and is absolutely the authentic conservative in this race! My husband and I wholeheartedly endorse John Alaniz for the Texas House.

John has boldly signed the Pledge Card for Constituents in HD 55 and has made himself accountable by filming a YouTube so that voters can hold him accountable in the future to honor his word:

SOL,
In today’s opinion section of the WSJ is a really good one by Kim Strassel titled Vulture Capitalism? Try Obama’s Version. I understand that you must be somewhat circumspect over your airwaves……GM dealerships do buy advertising after all. Each day I view with subdued amazement the new Chevrolets, Buicks, Cadillacs, and GMCs that people are buying…….many of these people probably consider themselves to be conservative(s) even though they patronize ol’ Government Motors.

There is a long list of crony capitalist corporations that deserve to by boycotted.

Friends,
I can't tell all of you how important this Senate race is to Texas. I'm sure that you remember how hard we worked during the last 2 legislative sessions in Austin to get a single bill passed to stop or even slow down the effects of illegal immigration. IRCOT met with Dewhurst's staff in 2009 urging him to get behind an E-verify bill but were politely shown the door. In 2011, we brought him the Texas Tea Party Coalition Letter on Illegal Immigration signed by nearly 3,000 Tea Party activists and never heard a word from Dewhurst. Dewhurst had every opportunity to do something to pass an anti-sanctuary city bill and DID NOTHING. When he could have used the rule to suspend the "blocker bill" and yet chose not to! This was even the most watered down bill that could have been written, and still he allowed it to be killed.

Many of you may have supported another candidate but we so need to defeat Dewhurst and keep him out of Washington where he will again do nothing. I think it's important to get the truth out that the very person who has accused Cruz of amnesty is the very one who was part of the "team" that killed all legislation to address illegal immigration in Texas for at least the last 3 legislative sessions. He must be defeated and I urge all of you to get the word out to your contact lists that Dewhurst is the real enemy on illegal immigration. He must be forced to a run-off.

Regards,

Maria Martinez

Actually, you should change your column and comedy-tary to "Be in the 19th Century."

Romney would do away with public schools. He and his kids never attended public schools. He depends on a survey from countries around the world, not the US, to determine class size.

He has no clue, just like you, about what goes on in the classroom. You and Mitt are still in the Big Chief Tablet and Big Mo Pencil mentality.

As to teachers in the classroom -- My sixth grade teacher, on the first day of class, came into the room to a roomful of babbling, talking students. She picked up her wooden pointer from the chalkboard and slammed it on her desk making a huge "crrrrrraaaaacccckkkk!" sound. She then, said, "Cut the crap!" We did.

She was unconventional. She was controversial. She was hated by many. I learned more from her than any teacher I have known.

Get into the 21st century. You're wayyyyyy behind. In fact, you remind me of Wally Cleaver.

Teresa Ford <thomasmodelt@aol.com>

This is a copy of the 'letter to the editor' I wrote to our local paper when this charter school first opened in Odessa, Tx. The school has been here about 2 years.

Regarding New Harmony School here in Odessa!
There’s an article written by Guy Roberts of ACT! for America which may be of interest to you, written April 9, 2009.
If you go to “Gulen Charter Schools” on the web and click on “Fethullah Gulen infiltrating US through our Charter Schools” you will find some interesting information about these charter schools popping up all over our country. Go down about 12 paragraphs and find the words “click on” and do so. Scan down and you will find “Harmony Schools of TX” listed as connected to this Islamist effort.
We do not need to be supporting these schools with our Tax Dollars

SOL,
Today’s WSJ has a really good opinion column titled Renewable Energy Can’t Run The Cloud. There’s some really good, yet boring, stuff in this column that underscores the inanity of Liberalism in general. Brings to mind one of Mark Twain’s maxims: “When I was 18 years old I was appalled at the abysmal ignorance of my father; but, by the time I was 23 I viewed with amazement at how much he had learned in just 5 short years.”

Went to my polling place shortly before 9:00 a.m. - When I placed my ballot in the machine, it showed that I was the 17th person who had voted this morning.
We don't get things changed with this kind of apathy and Lord knows we NEED change.
