Lynn on the GOP debate:
8/11/11

Best of show: Newt Gingrich. Best performance on the stage. "Super Committee is a dumb idea."
Bachmann: Firm and principled. Maintained her status as 2nd to Romney. Cain: "I stand for growth." Should have supported Fair Tax again. Good performance. Pawlenty: Probably out of it. Good line about mowing Mitt's lawn, but attacks on Bachmann awful. Hunstman: Why was he on stage at all? Added nothing. Paul: Wonderful as usual on everything except foreign policy. Go ahead. Audit the FED. Santorum: Moved up a notch. Effective challenge of Paul on Iran. Strong on life issues. Romney: No gaffes or mistakes. Went in as frontrunner; still there. Perry: Maybe he should have been there. Called "the status quo" by Paul.
