The rise of Newt Gingrich has some conservatives upset. After all, Newt has sat on a couch with
Nancy Pelosi, befriended Al Sharpton, supported global warming initiatives,
come out in favor of a personal mandate for health insurance – where do you
want me to stop?
And yet, the
choice may come down to Newt to Mitt Romney. If that becomes the choice, conservatives must stop whining
about the field and make a decision.
Romney’s reputation as a flip flopper is well deserved on everything
from climate change to abortion.
He is another former northeastern governor. He put together the healthcare plan that Obama modeled HIS
plan after. To my knowledge he has
never accomplished anything for the conservative movement. On the other hand, Gingrich, when on
track, can be brilliant. His
“Contract With America” dumbfounded the liberals and led to a sustained period
of conservatism.
